Couldn't agree more. Such a tricky dilema you've laid out. I wonder if there's any viable path for Europe to *start* chipping away at this dependency without totally shooting itself in the foot, especially given the scale of US cloud infrastructure. Is a slow decentralization even feaseble?

I think there are ways for Europe to do this, and the EU already has some programs working on cloud capacity build-up, but it will take a very, very long time at current trajectories. All discussions about the “trade bazooka” and cutting off American tech have to keep this fundamental reality in mind.
